About Me
My fascination with the natural world began when I was still a toddler. It started with dinosaurs, a childhood obsession that opened the door to a lifelong curiosity about the planet we live on. When I was six or seven, that fascination shifted to the animals that walk the earth today. My parents gave me an encyclopedia about wildlife, and it was the perfect gift. I spent countless hours buried in that book, discovering new species, learning small details and reading about the behaviour of the most remarkable creatures on this planet.
One book became many, and it is a joy to see my nephews and nieces now exploring those same pages, or at least what is left of them after years of reading.
A Growing Passion
Soon after, I discovered the BBC nature documentaries narrated by Sir David Attenborough. I watched them endlessly, unless I was watching The Lord of the Rings for the 100th time. His voice, his enthusiasm and the mesmerising footage of our planet made a deep impression on me. I could not believe how much beauty and diversity the world holds.
I learned whatever I could about animals and nature, especially the different species that inhabit our planet. That curiosity never faded.
Discovering Photography
When I was about twenty‑two, I started experimenting with photography using my new OnePlus phone. I had a lot of fun trying different angles and viewpoints, learning tips and tricks from YouTube mentors like Nigel Danson, Matt Shannon, Omar Gonzales and James Popsys.
After two years of photographing with my phone, I switched to a mirrorless camera. I chose the Fujifilm system after careful consideration, as far as possible when you have never used one before. However, I still use Fujifilm today, so I guess I made the right choice.
How I See Photography
For me, photography should be fun. It is a way of looking at the world, noticing small details that most people miss or simply see differently. I like to be amazed when I photograph, whether it is nature, people or cities. Photography helps me slow down and appreciate the beauty that surrounds us. And last but not least it’s also my way of expressing my creativity in a variety of ways.
